CAC - Waukesha County


The Waukesha County Services Division provides funding to nonprofit organizations that are working to address the needs of individuals and families living in poverty.

Housing

The Sister House
This shelter for battered women and their children is the only shelter specifically designed to address domestic violence in Waukesha County. Funding will be used to pay for nights of care at the shelter for women experiencing poverty .
 

Hebron House of Hospitality’s Jeremy House Safe Haven
This house provides emergency shelter to homeless individuals with mental illness.  Jeremy House provides an entry into the mental health system, referrals to employment opportunities, advocacy case management, and budget counseling to help each guest work on their specific barrier.

Richard’s Place, Inc.
This residential facility provides supportive housing to homeless individuals infected with HIV/AIDS who are in need of daily living assistance and end-of-life-care.  Residents receive case management services with the goal of achieving maximum independence and restoration of dignity through a compliment of safe, affordable housing and individually tailored day-to-day supportive services.

Community Outreach Health Clinic
This clinic, located at Community Memorial Hospital in Oconomowoc, provides uninsured and underinsured persons with 1) quality non-emergency medical, dental and pharmaceutical care, 2) referrals to appropriate community resources, and 3) encourages a preventative, wellness lifestyle through education and counseling.

Healthy Families of Waukesha
This program is based on the philosophy that every parent desires to be the best       parent   he or she can be.   Since 1992, Healthy Families of Waukesha has been   providing individuals with the support needed to become effective parents. Family Support Workers empower parents on a case by case basis by providing education, support, skill-building, and referrals to other appropriate community-based agencies. The program’s goal is to prevent child abuse instead of waiting to until the damage
 is done.
